WWE Cherry Biography

Cherry Drew was born as Kara Elizabeth Drew on 15th July, 1975. In 1999, Drew started her involvement in wrestling by managing in the IWF, and at the same time started training with Gino Caruso to be a wrestler. By 2003, she was already wrestling mainly in independent circuits until 2005 when she started wrestling in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). She was signed to a development contract by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) a few months later.

In January 2006, Drew made her debut in OVW as “Cherry Pie” and was a member of the Throwbacks (which later came to be known as Deuce ‘n Domino). She was part of their 1950s gimmick chewing gum and always on a roller skate. Kara Drew dropped the “Pie” in her ring name to become simply known as “Cherry”. The Throwbacks were defeated by Shawn Spears and Cody Runnels in a tag team match at the end of 2006. The new champs won the services of Cherry and she accompanied them to ringside. However, Spears soon had a crash on Cherry and this affected his performance in matches. Cherry however turned down Spears and Runnels and instead helped Deuce ‘n Domino to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship.

In the next year (January, 2007), she made her debut appearance on SmackDown as the manager of her boyfriend Deuce (with his brother Domino). In April 2007, she was still with Deuce ‘n Domino when they won the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Cherry drew shocked her SmackDown fans in March 2008 when she started participating in SmackDown Diva contest. She competed against Michelle McCool, Maryse, Eve Torres and Victoria. She made it to the last two but was defeated by Michelle McCool on 4th April, 2008 SmackDown. Her first match debut was against Victoria on 18th Apr, 2008. Victoria dominated most of the match but Cherry snatched the win thanks to some distraction brought about by Michelle McCool. In the following week, she had her second match, wrestling against Natalya Neidhart and she lost. Despite the loss, she showed the fans that she was skilled at wrestling.

Now that she is wrestling, Cherry has stopped appearing with Deuce and Domino. In fact, the pair have exclusively stated they do not want anything more to do with Cherry and have dumped her for their new found friend Maryse, whom they have started hanging out with more. After the Deuce ‘n Domino announced they had dumped Cherry, Maryse went ahead to provoke her only to get slapped for that. Cherry went on and won two more matches against Maryse.

Now that she is wrestling, Cherry has stopped appearing with Deuce and Domino. On August 2008, Cherry’s contract with WWE was terminated. Later, it was reported that many people in the company did not feel that Cherry was thin enough to be a WWE Diva.
